Creative HeARTs Placemaking Festivals
Join us for our vibrant, seasonal Creative HeARTs Placemaking Festivals, where creativity knows no bounds! These mini-fests are held multiple times per year in various locations in Vestavia Hills. Discover a kaleidoscope of talent as local artists gather to showcase their creative work of all ilk. Focused upon promoting community well-being and resilience, anchors of these arts and culture sustainability festivals include:
Curated pop-up markets, a special place to find masterpieces in different mediums – from captivating paintings to woodwork, handcrafted jewelry, fashion design, artisanal furniture, culinary artisanship and more.
Venues for live entertainment integrated to highlight innovative and indigenous performances in dance, theatre and music.
Seminars and workshops offered to promote sustainability and networking in support of emergent and established artisans alike.
Leadership training and social sessions to develop creative partnerships benefiting our key stakeholders, arts-based work and commerce in the region.
With opportunities to meet the creators, purchase unique treasures, and support the arts and creative economy, it’s a celebration not to be missed.
Paint & Pour
Unleash your inner artist at our Paint and Pour community event! Join us for an evening of creativity and camaraderie as we gather together to paint and sip on your favorite beverages. No prior experience necessary – our talented instructors will guide you step-by-step through creating your own masterpiece. Whether you’re a seasoned painter or picking up a brush for the first time, come enjoy a relaxed atmosphere filled with laughter, inspiration, and plenty of fun. Bring your friends, unwind, and let your creativity flow!”

Event Partners
Vestavia Hills serves as a home to many family friendly community events. Many of these events began organically as neighbors getting together to cultivate a sense of togetherness. These events are some of our favorites and we’re proud to support them.
Battle of the Bands
Join young rock ‘n rollers from the area as they compete in the Rocky Ridge Battle of the Bands, sponsored by Mason Music. Performers compete in middle school or high school categories as they rock their way to $2,000 in total prize money. Bring your tailgate chairs and enjoy food and beverage from merchants in Rocky Ridge Plaza. Event is typically hosted the Saturday after Easter from 5-9 pm.
Cahaba Chamber Chorale
The Cahaba Chamber Chorale is a professional vocal ensemble located in central Alabama. A premiere professional vocal ensemble that will showcase the diverse, breadth of talent in our region — fostering the human spirit through education, advocacy, and performance of choral music, whilst singing together to build community. The ensemble is made of up of professional singers, vocalists, teachers, and professors from several states across the southeastern region.
Vestavia Hills City Schools Arts Education
Vestavia Hills City Schools Arts Education department strives to build a vibrant community that values connection, empathy, and the pursuit of excellence. Through risk-taking and creative exploration, we honor the significance of all arts, enriching personal and cultural experiences.
Veterans Day Ceremony
Holiday Tree Lighting
The Vestavia Hills Arts Council partners with the city schools and city to hold the annual Christmas tree lighting. The event includes dance, choirs, vendors, and a visit from Santa Clause.
Menorah Lighting
See the lighting of the Menorah and enjoy seasonal music, traditional donuts, latkes, and a balloon twister for children!
I Love America Day
I Love America is the annual Fourth of July celebration of the city of Vestavia Hills, Alabama. Enjoy children’s activities, live music, business expo & a movie.
Spring Fling Family Day
Join us at Wald Park June 27th from 6-7:30 pm to celebrate the arrival of spring with live music, food trucks, face painting, bounce houses, vendors, and more! The night will end with an outdoor concert for all ages!
Heights Hangout
Enjoy live music, a kid’s zone, pop-up shops, sponsor booths, and more. Tickets are $10 at the gate; proceeds benefit the ongoing Beautification of Cahaba Heights through the Cahaba Heights Merchants Association.
